In recent years, UML increasingly has become known in the SoC and embedded software design community
for its capability of unifying the specification and the design of the hardware and software parts of electronic systems.
However, only a few concrete case studies of complex systems, involving tasks such as the specification, analysis, design,
synthesis and verification of UML models of these electronic systems, have been reported in technical detail.
The 5th International UML for SoC design workshop is calling for UML applications beyond simple case studies, which
combine in particular modeling with synthesis or verification. Submitters are asked to present and discuss technical details of
concrete case studies of considerable complexity. Presented benefits must be verified by experimental results.
Drawbacks and limitations, with their impact to the design of complex systems, must be clearly indicated.
Interested contributors are invited to submit an extended abstract between 1 and 2 pages with the description of their work,
including references to published papers or reports for additional information. In order to provide a platform for fruitful discussions,
authors of accepted abstracts are asked to deliver a presentation at the workshop. A 10-15 minute discussion during which the audience
is encouraged to ask questions of the presenters will follow each presentation. The collection of accepted papers (4-6 pages each)
will be available at the workshop as hardcopies and via the UML-SoC website (http://www.c-lab.de/uml-soc).
The extended abstract (1-2 pages, single column, A4, 11pt, pdf or Word) must be submitted to the general chair You find the pdf version of the CFP here. |
